The first school term is almost over!
its been a busy one ….
A successful food appeal before Christmas provided food parcels for all our school families and many other needy in families the village, we raised more than our target…so bought more food !
Fundraising events over the last few months by our sponsors have been amazing. Jess McGlinchey organised a ball that raised £1800, The Laurel Lane Singers & Heatons Youth Club sang for the elderly and raised funds, Touch Primary School in Dunfermline raised £750 to buy bikes for Kenyan children who have to walk a great distance and many others who put their hands in pockets and donated at funeral and baby shower collections or donated directly through our web site …thank you all, it really allows us to improve the educational facilities….and pay our teachers and staff better!
Lot of sponsors visited Kenya in the first quarter of the year.
A group from Portishread organised by Tanya Marriott had their yearly trip, transporting and fitting each child with a pair of shoes. Help was also provided delivering teacher training, sports, building and nursery provision.

Our new sports facility was officially opened! a fabulous netball court in Naina Krishna’s memory. This will be used to provide curriculum sports, like volleyball, hockey etc too, we are excited with the plans in place to develop this area…watch this space .
Many students recently participated in the regional athletics meet, many of them successfully moved on to compete at county level.
The children in the school house were thrilled to receive new mattresses and bedding. The children are so happy and have such a lovely environment to live and study in….it’s what ever child deserves
We are finally able to proceed with the science facilities after confirmation on what the government requirements are for this space.
Its going to be fantastic

The auditions have started for the Singing Children of Africa who we hope will tour again in planning in 2025
