Another new term begins

Another 70 children join nursery

Stella who oversea the kindergarten and nursery commented on how active the children who joined PP1 this year from nursery are.
We know this makes it harder for our teachers, however it is recognised that the children are better stimulated, nourished, and have more confidence, giving them opportunities to let their personalities and characters flourish.

We wish we could do more and not have to turn away mothers and fathers whose children are not admitted and who are disappointed

Christmas Food Parcels

Another successful year, with your help we were able to raise over £5000 to provide food parcels for all the school families and many of the vulnerable and elderly in the surrounding area.

Thank you for caring

Grateful thanks

It is a busy but lovely time of year, giving out new uniforms, underwear  (shoes to follow) and anything else we can help with. A big thank you to all the sponsors who have visited over the last few months and have helped in so many different ways, you do a great service.

Over last term we have worked on and have now implemented a new visitors policy, which, will be displayed at the entrance to the school. Can we please ask that all visitors to the school adhere to this policy and follow procedures to minimise disruption in class, maintain safety protocols, and help our Kenyan team.

Thank you for all you do

Yes, the tour is on

The Singing Children will be returning to the Uk in the late summer for a small tour, this is such a special event for these children (and for many who host and witness their performance ).
Costs are high, already we have cut these tours to every two years, but flight snd visa costs have doubled so we are going with this tour in the hope that you will get behind them and help us fundraise! We are looking for company sponsorship for tracksuits, trainers, jackets, flights, visas in fact anything!! . We have advertising space in our programm and can promote any company who sponsors or simply wants to advertise.

Ruth pictured here has been on a long journey with us, she is a beautiful singer (and young woman), who is teaching the songs to the children again this year. George, Kombe and young Festus, who many of you remember will be the adults accompanying the children this year.

Please get in touch if you can help

We love this space

We are so grateful to have this land and all the activities that can be done here!
As we are now registered as a lower secondary school this space is essential for the extra curricular activities that are required.

Sports, agriculture, environmental and craft lessons are all in full swing. We have brought in the lovely Amina to help with the sewing, she will be sewing school badges onto uniforms and helping with sewing lessons .

A brand new chicken run thanks to some wonderful sponsors means that the children can participate in learning about animal welfare alongside the excitement of having new chicks hatch one day.

Education is the key

We understand the poverty that is still in the village, its not hard to find.
The area the school is in was once rural, no electricity or water and all houses were adobe mud huts. The  infrastructure and building that is currently taking place is incredible, and the area would probably be described as urban now. We still have lots of families using the outside tap with water we provide, but many others are doing better.

We have also witnessed the difference in the size and build of the children because of the nourishment they receive at school.

It is a joy that almost anywhere we go in the area we meet young adults who have completed their education with educate the kids help, and are working, studying or trying hard.

It is the poorest children who are admitted into our school, so their achievements are even greater. We try and help the we can with food parcels and basic needs and know that many of our lovely sponsors do this too. We believe education is the key and a hand up not a hand uo will ultimately see the biggest success in these children lives.

Thank you to all our wonderful sponsors
