Once again, Educate the Kids is taking part in the amazing event that is the Edinburgh Kiltwalk. Last year, we raised lots of money and this year we’d like to make even more, so no pressure! If you’re young, old or just somewhere in between, please come along and join our team. The event is on 15thSeptember and we’re doing the “Wee Wander” of just five miles, so it’s not too difficult and if I can do it then everyone can!
A date for your diary – Edinburgh, 15thSeptember, 2019
Once again, Educate the Kids is taking part in the amazing event that is the Edinburgh Kiltwalk. Last year, we raised lots of money and this year we’d like to make even more, so no pressure!
If you’re young, old or just somewhere in between, please come along and join our team. The event is on 15thSeptember and we’re doing the “Wee Wander” of just five miles, so it’s not too difficult and if I can do it then everyone can! It doesn’t cost much at all to take part in our team (£12.80 for adults* to be exact, and let’s face it, you can spend that in one visit to Starbucks – other coffee shops are available).
* £6.50 for children and under-5s go free.
All you need to do is this…
Go the the Kiltwalk page: (scroll down till you get to the Wee Wander bit).
To join our team, click on “Choose a team,” then type in “Educate the Kids.” (see left)
Once you reach the Educate the Kids page, click on “join a team,” and then type in “The Keen-Yins.” Click “JOIN.” (see below right).
Once you have registered you will be sent an email from Everyday Hero to activate your fundraising page – make sure to do this so you can start getting your friends and family to sponsor you!
It’s as simple as that. Once you’ve registered, check out the Kiltwalk YouTube channel and share some of the amazing stories from over the years.
So far so good? Well, the even better news is that thanks to the generosity of the Hunter Foundation, all money raised is topped up by 40%. In other words, 140% of all the money raised goes to the charities taking part, and in the case of Educate the Kids, as you probably know, that means EVERY LAST PENNY GOES TO HELP THE CHILDREN AT OUR SCHOOL IN KENYA.
If that’s not enough, the even more exciting news is that after their stellar performance last year, the Singing Children of Africa have been invited to sing on the big stage at 3pm. They will perform songs from their 2019 Tour “WONDERFUL” and also sing “Flower of Scotland” with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers.
Any questions? If you’d like more information, please email me and I’ll do my best to help you.
