The focus of the schools development for the last few years has been to provide facilities and opportunities that allow children to flourish alongside their academic achievements. We have hired a new sports master who some you may already know. Brooklyn has just completed his degree in sports science, has lots of passion and will be a real asset to the school. George will continue to oversea sports alongside ensuring curriculum and extra curriculum creative activities are provided.
In sport we have had great success qualifying again for regional finals in netball, wining the inter school football tournament, two students selected for national karate team, and we even picked up the trophy in the Mombasa County Scouts Inter-Patrol competition.

The schools success should be celebrated, as these students come from the poorest of backgrounds and many wouldn’t have the opportunity to attend school without the charities assistance. We think they deserve the best facilities and teachers, so we will strive with fund raising efforts to ensure that they succeed.This coupled with the children receiving lunch everyday is certainly making a difference and the children are thriving. We couldn’t do this without you and our sponsors are key to the school and charities success. 

The pavilion annex provides the space for sporting, agricultural, musical, arts & crafts, woodworking and sewing classes. As we are a registered lower secondary school many of these subjects are curricular requirements.
As a lower secondary school we have many older children, who require a wider range of subjects, higher qualified teachers and larger lunches!

With this in mind and the escalating costs of fuel and food we need to increase our sponsorship costs. If you are able to increase your sponsorship payment then we would bevery appreciative.

We are mindful that costs have increased throughout the world, and many of youmake sacrifices to sponsor a child. We do not want to place any further financial burden on you, 

and if you need to remain at £11, we are still very appreciative and the child you sponsor will not be impacted.
any new sponsorship payments will be as follows
Nursery -Grade 6 – £15 per month
Grade  6-9 -£25 a month

The last sponsorship increase we made was in 2006! 

Our sponsors who visit Kenya often see a need and fill it Many of the children are unable to study at home as they have no electricity or light, with some fundraising from a couple of sponsors, hundreds of portable solar lights were distributed to many needy families. Year 9 were sharing calculators and one of our sponsors bought each child their own And sometimes sponsors just provide a bit of fun! Thanks to amazing people who give freely of their time, talents and hard earned cash…you know who you are ….thank you We would like to acquire more computers and develop our music options with some keyboards and other instruments, we still have lots of sports equipment to purchase….so if anyone can help please get in touch  When talking to any of the children what they like about school, food is normally brought up in the conversation.Breakfast porridge and school lunch may be the only food the children receive in a day, another good reason to come to school. In addition to providing for our students we often assist the needy and children in the village, the funds we raise go to those who need it. Winter time in Kenya would leave most of use sweating…however its school jumper time as the children find the cooler months cold. Thanks to all who collect uniforms throughout the year. Our headmaster Edward had a wonderful visit to England and visited as many schools and colleges as he could. He learned a great deal and it is a treat to watch his personal growth. We are very grateful to all who supported the visit and really gave him the most wonderful time. His visit to London was such an amazing highlight. Thank you, thank you to all who made this happen and sorry to all those who he didn’t get a chance to visit. Two exciting new projects Inspired by his recent visit to a school in Wales and some funds raised by Bradford College Eward started a book club for year 9’s to borrow books from, of which he is very proud. We are building accommodation for visitors who want to have a cultural experience in the village whilst volunteering at the school. The accommodation is a nice standard and has two bedrooms with bunkbeds accommodating 4 people comfortably, there are toilet and shower facilities. This house in in our nursery complex where Bavon (one of our teaching assistants) lives onsite, so there is always someone there to assist. We are not becoming a travel agent but we hope that this will generate a income stream for the charity and staff at the school, providing a fabulous opportunity for volunteers and beniffitng from their talents.
